Calling All Gardeners - Sign up now for this year's garden waste collection service

Sheffield’s garden waste collection service for 2023 will begin again in March. In partnership with Sheffield City Council, Veolia provides this convenient kerbside subscription service to make recycling your garden waste as easy as possible.

To take advantage of all 19 fortnightly green bin collections between March and November, sign up and pay online at www.veolia.co.uk/sheffield/gardenwaste before Sunday 12 February.

Our garden waste collection service takes green waste such as grass mowings, leaves, twigs, branches and weeds, which is then transported to a local facility in South Yorkshire to be recycled into compost. This service is one of many that strives towards ecological transformation in the local and regional community.

Emma Windle, General Manager, Veolia Sheffield said:

“Being one of the greenest cities in Europe we understand that residents want to recycle as much as they can. We want to make it as easy as possible by offering a garden waste collection across Sheffield for everyone with green fingers and a sustainable outlook. Customers that sign up will get a fortnightly collection for 19 weeks directly from their home and will then be composted into soil improver for local businesses.”

If you’ve not signed up to the garden waste service before then there’s no better time to start. If you sign up before Sunday 12 February you will be eligible for all 19 collections when they commence in March for a cost of £61.10.

Unwanted garden waste can also be recycled for free at any of the city’s five Household Waste Recycling Centers or at home by composting. Residents can buy a home compost bin by visiting: www.getcomposting.com
