The terms and conditions of the chargeable garden waste recycling service:
- The subscription you pay is for 2017 and only covers the collection dates shown on your calendar. No refunds are available once the service has started.
- You can subscribe to the service part way through the year for a reduced cost according to the number of collections remaining over the period you have selected.
- The garden waste recycling service only operates within the Sheffield City Council boundary. If you move house within Sheffield, you need to take the green bin with you. Please let us know by contacting us on 0114 273 4567 or by email: [email protected] Do not take your black or blue bin and box with you.
- If you move outside of Sheffield you will no longer be able to use the service and we are not able to offer a refund.
- If your green bin is lost or damaged, there will be a one off charge of £5* (including VAT) to replace/repair it.
*Please note that this charge will be increasing to £20 after 5th April 2017. - Your green bin should be put out on the kerbside at the front of your property before 7am on the day of your collection (and no earlier than 6pm on the day before). Please place your bin where we can see and access it from the roadside, but do not block the pavement.
- Your bin should be removed from the pavement no later than 9am on the day after your collection.
- Your green bin cannot be emptied if it is too heavy, the lid is not shut flat, or if it has not been presented for collection in the correct location.
- Only garden waste contained within the bin will be collected. Extra waste will not be taken. The subscription covers the collection of one green bin only.
- Your green bin cannot be emptied if it contains anything other than the garden waste listed. Please remove any incorrect items so that your bin can be emptied on your next collection day.
- If your ‘PAID' sticker is lost or damaged, please call: 0114 273 4567 or email: [email protected] for a replacement sticker.
- If you already have an ‘assisted service’ for your black bin, blue bin and box, this will also apply to your green bin.
- If we miss your garden waste bin collection and it is our fault, please let us know and your green bin will be emptied within two working days. If you forget to put your green bin out it will be emptied on your next collection day
