Deepcar HWRC Closure - 10 July |
Deepcar HWRC is currently closed to the public following a fire which broke out in a general waste container on Thursday 9 July. Thanks to the quick actions of our staff and the emergency services, the fire was contained and no injuries were sustained by our staff or the public and the site is expected to open as usual on Saturday 11 July. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. All other HWRCs remain open as usual. Find your nearest site at www.sheffield.veolia.co.uk/HWRC. A bigger blue bin announced for all Sheffield residents |
Sheffield City Council and Veolia will begin replacing 140l blue bins with larger 240l bins across the city between July and December 2026. The new blue bin will be the same size as your brown bin and make it easier to recycle paper and card. Residents should continue to put the current blue bin out on their usual collection day before 7am. Extra paper and card can be placed next to the blue bin – just make sure it is bundled together, tied with string, and is no larger than your bin.
