Waste and recycling services in Sheffield are facing some disruption due to strike action. We are working hard to minimise any disruption to services. We’re sorry and share your frustration that the industrial action by Unite the Union due to a dispute with the GMB over membership and recognition is continuing. Waste and Recycling Bin Collections:
Garden waste services are temporarily suspended Due to the ongoing strike action, we have no alternative but to temporarily suspend the garden waste collection service with immediate effect. We understand this impacts the service you've paid for and we are committed to fairness. Subscribers will be contacted with arrangements to rectify any missed collections once the full impact of the strike action is known. Recycling bring sites remain closed during strike action. All recycling bring sites are temporarily closed during strike action. This is to prioritise all waste and recycling collections. Waste and recycling must not be left at any of these sites. Recycling and waste can be taken to one of the five Household Waste Recycling Centres throughout the city which remain open as usual. Find more information about HWRCs. Other changes There will be a reduced bulky collection and bin delivery service during strike action.
